PARENTS - Get Involved

If you are interested in becoming a Safer Internet Helpline Operator, we occasionally have training sessions in order to prepare new staff for the position.

Although the Helpline currently operates for 1 hour per day, the demands of the position are quite high because of the knowledge and background required.

If you have a background in psychology, counseling, or a similar discipline, and have experience in working with people and especially in a Helpline context, then you might be the right sort of person for the position!

In order to better understand the duties and responsibilities of the position, please read the “Safer Internet Helpline Training Manual” as well as the rest of the sections of this website. In the case where you would like to find out more about the possible opportunities and upcoming training sessions, send an email to Helpline@cnti.org.cy.

Research organizations and independent researchers associates are also welcome to contact us in regards to possible collaborations.

If you do not have a background in psychology or any relevant experience, you can still get involved by volunteering at the Helpline and CyberEthics in general. You can learn all the relevant knowledge and also become experienced in how our Helpline and Awareness Node operate by assisting us in coordinating our operations and research. Feel free to contact us at Helpline@cnti.org.cy if you would like to learn more.

If you are a parent, educator, professional, or student who would like to disseminate information about Internet Safety to other parents (e.g. a school’s Parents Association), colleagues or fellow practitioners, feel free to contact us and we will provide you with relevant information leaflets and some background knowledge for you to present. Presentations and speeches by Helpline representatives can also be arranged. Please email us at Helpline@cnti.org.cy if you would like any assistance with the above.
